Almost every Championship Band in the local area has players that have come through the Youth Band.

Each year we hold Music Tours in the summer to Holland, Guernsey, Spain, France, Italy and Germany.

We have won numerous band and individual Youth Prizes at the world famous Whit Friday Band Contests. Our best ever year was 2002 with eight Youth Prizes, two Saddleworth Prizes and a deportment prize.

In 2002 we were nominated and received a 'Pride in Oldham' award.
