Happy halloween everyone! Well done to all our youngsters who dressed up for last night's rehearsal, either at home or in person - and to their equally creative families. There were some truly terrifying apparitions and it was lovely to see the band having a bit of fun.
No group picture this year, of course, but thanks to everyone for taking part ... including our monkey man conductor, Seth.

Huge congratulations to our first player of the month for (gulp) 8 months, Jessica! She's a fantastic young player who has worked really hard, even taking her tenor horn on holiday over the summer to keep practising.
Her dedication is even more praiseworthy when you consider the long break we've had from 'normal' rehearsals - and she's been rewarded by being one of the youngsters to move up from beginners to trainers recently.
We're very happy to say that as an educational organisation, we have been able to start up some very tightly controlled practice sessions at Dobcross Band Club and Boarshurst Silver Band HQ, with plenty of infection control and social distancing measures in place. We're hugely grateful to Oldham Council's public health team for coming to check our arrangements and giving us the go-ahead to resume - in smaller groups than usual, but safety has to come first!
Thanks also to MD Seth Livingstone and the many, many people he consulted to get us up and running again, including Pam Byrne and our MP Debbie Abraham.
